Petr was born in the Czech Republic. At the age of eighteen Petr made the decision to move his family to Canada to begin a new life. Petr began his career in the Marine Industry in 2004. Working for Harbourfront Centre, Petr has enjoyed the position of Dock Master at Marina Quay West in Toronto for the past 10 years. During his tenure as Dock Master, Petr obtained a number of Marine certificates including, Emergency Spill Response Training, Passenger/Crew Safety Training, Toronto Harbour License and ROC-M. As a volunteer with Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons since 2009 Petr has obtained PCOC, Seamanship Course, CPS Instructor Development Course and Discover Boating /CPS Close- Quarter Power Boat Handling and was a Safety Instructor on the indoor lake, at the Toronto International Boat Show. This year, Petr obtained his Small Vessel Operators Certificate (SVOP) and his MEDA3; as a stepping stone to achieve his goal of securing his International Captain?s Licence this fall. As a volunteer with T-SAR in the capacity of Training Officer for the past six months, Petr excelled and completed First Aid CPR and Phase 1 and Phase 2 theory training. Petr is excited to undertake the role of Commanding Officer for the team.
Lance held a command position in the Canadian Navy Reserves as an officer and he is currently an active boater. His time with the Canadian Navy included service with HMCS Hunter and HMCS Esquimalt. He has held the position of watch-keeping officer, successfully completed the Destroyer Navigator Course, and served as executive officer of a small boats unit at HMCS Halifax. Lance has also served as navigation officer on two coastal patrol vessels and captained a 75 ton coastal patrol vessel teaching navigation to junior officers. Beyond this, Lance has had a very successful business career as an entrepreneur.
Adrian Award has been a volunteer with the coast guard for the past 6 years. In that time he has done courses such as: PCOC, seamanship and phase 1 and phase 2 training. He continues his love of the emergency services in his professional career as a firefighter for the town of Whitby and an event medic with Odyssey medical.
He currently lives in the Bluffs with his wife and son.

Brandon was introduced to boating at a very young age, learning from his grandfather on his fishing boat in Newfoundland. Brandon purchased his first boat in 2013 and learned to navigate safely in the Toronto harbour and the surrounding areas. Safety is first priority. Brandon keeps a fully stocked boat in case of any situation.
Niels was born in Wales and was exposed to a marine environment and commercial vessels from a young age while accompanying his father, who worked as a pilot.
Niels emigrated to Canada and became a police officer stationed at 14 Division and the Marine Unit. He eventually left the police service to pursue a career in real estate and is currently the broker of Record at RE/MAX Professionals Christensen Group. Niels is a certified PADI Staff Instructor, and teaches SCUBA diving and CPR courses. He also enjoys boating on board his trawler - Awelon-y-Mor.
He has over 30 years of experience in boating and is currently completing the Transport Canada, Masters Limited (60 Ton) certification.
Michael’s boating experience spans canoeing in Algonquin Park, driving a sea-doo or a powerboat in Muskoka to navigating a sailboat through Georgian Bay. While he finds boating to be a calming and adventurous experience, he acknowledges the inherent dangers of such an activity and believes that it is important to prioritize safe boating practices at all times.
Isaac has a background in emergency response, firefighting and fire prevention and is currently employed by Toronto Fire Services as a Fire Investigator. He has previously worked as a Fire Prevention Officer in Toronto and Firefighter and Medic in Northern Saskatchewan.
Isaac has been a crew member with Toronto Search and Rescue since the 2016 season.
Luis was born in Spain and lived in Argentina in his early years before moving to Canada at the age of 21. He is a long- time resident of Toronto, now married with children. Luis has family- related experience in different waters as part of fishing boats and recreational vessels and he is an active boater.
Luis works as a manager for a high-end security company in charge of the executive operatives team, quality assurance and training facilitator. Luis is also an appointed and certified Instructor with the FSESO on training and examine the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC), Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC), Ontario Hunter Education Program (OHEP) with the Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. He also holds his Instructor certification for Crisis Management, Effective Communications and Resistance Management systems, Use of force, Defensive Tactics. First Aid and CPR Instructor and active member of the Canadian Tactical Officers Association (CTOA).
Luis has an extensive background in dealing with different cultures and knowledge of different languages together with his mission on helping safeguard the waterfront and give back to the community are key assets for the Team.
Ivan was born in Serbia and grew up on the Danube before moving to Canada at age 11. He has been around boats almost all his life and he learned how to drive a boat before he learned to drive a car.
He started his own IT business shortly after he graduated university.
Ivan purchased a boat in 2005. He is a member of the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron and is a Recognized Examiner for PCOC and VHF. In 2013 he navigated a boat from Miami to Lake Simcoe in 2013 in 24 days.
Ivan has been a T-SAR volunteer since 2015.
Alan Banks is a long-standing member of our crew. He is a mentor and valued leader who brings years of sailing experience to our unit. As shipwright he has been instrumental in ensuring the readiness of our boat when we are going out on the water.
