A woman drowned in Ontario Place Harbour following an electronic music festival early Sunday morning. Her body was discovered a short while later near her family’s boat, where the 33-year-old had been partying after the concert. In a statement Monday, police said the death appeared to be accidental and preventable, and that authorities were conducting interviews with attendees of the party to better understand the sequence of events leading to the drowning.
Sources suggest alcohol consumption was a contributing factor in the incident. This drowning is a chilling reminder of the importance of practicing safe behaviour on the water.
